Here is how the Book Club works:
-
Accountability: We provide a robust accountability structure
-
Active Reading Strategy: Members are required to procure a physical copy of the book and read designated portions for meeting.
-
Worksheets: Printable PDF worksheets and journal activities are made available to help you actively apply the lessons learned.
Prepare to experience books in a completely new setup, where reading yields measurable results!
You won't win a prize for reading a book a week.
Take it slow. Sit with a book like an old friend.
Welcome to the Blessons Personal Development Book Club.
Our aim? Discernment and selective retention. We aren't racing through books. Instead, we're digesting small bits, diving deep into key concepts. Our mission is to truly understand and internalize what the authors want us to learn and apply.
We will:
-
See these books through fresh eyes.
-
Extract new insights from every page.
-
Hold onto these learnings and make them a part of our lives.
Through this approach, we strive to achieve the transformation intended by the authors.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
-
We meet online with Zoom twice a month.
-
Meetings take place Tuesday evenings EST at 6:30 pm.
-
The session lasts about 60-90 minutes.
-
You will receive prior notice of the selected book and you'll grab a physical copy.
-
Each bi-weekly assignment will be a bite-size increment of 1-3 chapters, depending on the book.
-
You'll read the assignment ahead of the meeting.
-
You'll use "close reading," an active reading strategy where you'll annotate the pages of your book to tap into the mind-body connection.
-
At the meeting, I will lead the group through the key concepts and significant take-aways to be sure you are getting the best of the book as the author intends.
-
There will be some discussion + sharing.
-
I will provide a printable PDF for journaling and further exploration and thought and to help you explore the key points on your own to make it fit into your life in the best way for you.
-
You can create your own Thought Binder with these worksheets that you can go back and dip into again and again. Repetition = Growth
What if I've already read a book?
FAQ
That's great news! One of the best things you can do to truly learn is to read something multiple times. It's a strategy reading teachers have used for decades! I've read my favorite personal development books over and over! Have you ever noticed that when you read something again, you always pick up something you didn't get the first time around? I guarantee, you'll learn more and gain deeper insight with a re-reading! Plus, my technique allows you to see the text with fresh eyes.
What if I don't do the reading ahead of time?
No worries at all! You will get massive benefits from our discussion even if you read the chapters after the session.
Can I gift a Book Club Membership?
What a beautiful idea! Of course you can gift a Blessons Massive Impact Book Club Membership. Who wouldn't love that? Email us at hi@mitzicampbell.com to make arrangements for your gift subscription.
Can I join if a book is already in progress?
You can join the group at any time! If we are in progress on a book, you can jump in where we are and you'll have access to all the replays and PDF's from the weeks you've missed so you can easily catch up.
What if I miss a week?
Life happens! It's no problem at all to miss a week. The replays and PDF's are always available for those who can't make a live session. Some people prefer to go at their own pace and that's the beauty of this Book Club. You can engage in the live sessions, or work in private. This is about you and your personal preferences. It's your transformation.
Why do I need a physical copy of the book?
I use a process called "close reading" to examine texts. This is a form of active reading where your brain and your body are BOTH involved. If you listen to an audio book, you'll get something out of it, but not ALL that you can get out of it. This group is about maximizing the potential in a book. Reading a hard copy while engaging with annotations and then working with the material in the group as well is the best way to do this.
Are you sure you are absorbing everything?
How do you know you are getting what you
are supposed to get out of a book?
Without accountability, you don't. That is why I created this Book Club. I realized how many wonderful books I've read over the years and yet, I still haven't implemented all the right tools to get me where I want to go. It's hard to do it alone. That's why being a part of a group is so important to the process of personal and professional growth.
Collaborative, idea-lab style groups are the best way to get the most out of concepts, tools and tips. There is just something about a community, that amplifies absorption and learning. The energy of a group magnifies the frequency of the information allowing you to make it stick in a way you just can't do on your own.
IT'S LIKE PERSONALIZED COACHING FROM THE WORLD'S TOP EXPERTS.

FIRST BOOK IS A LIFE-CHANGER!
“It’s not always the people who start out the smartest who end up the smartest.”
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D., discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. People with a fixed mindset—those who believe that abilities are fixed—are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset—those who believe that abilities can be developed. Mindset reveals how great parents, teachers, managers, and athletes can put this idea to use to foster outstanding accomplishment.
In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love—to transform their lives and your own.
